The Goethe-Institut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with a global reach. With 157 institutes in 98 countries, it promotes knowledge of German abroad, encourages international cultural exchange and conveys an image of contemporary Germany. The Goethe-Institut is the international market leader for German courses and German exams at all levels. We offer teachers of German an extensive training program through online courses, seminars in the home country and scholarships for further training in Germany. The Goethe-Institut runs a number of international and national competitions and programmes for German learners of all ages to increase their motivation to learn German. We provide up-to-date materials and interactive offers for German lessons. We actively cooperate with educational authorities and educational institutions and support them in introducing the German language.

We will talk about our educational projects with German for various levels of education, German language courses and exams and opportunities for cooperation in the field of education in Russia.
German courses A1-C2 and exams

Learn German with the international market leader for German language courses. With highly qualified teachers, modern methods, intensive group work and an international language level system, our learning concept guarantees you rapid progress in learning German. German courses for children (10-13 years old), teenagers (14-16 years old) and the "Goethe_Camp" (10-14 years old) provide an opportunity to learn German in a playful way.

In the online course "German in school: new opportunities" you will learn about the advantages of introducing a second foreign language to schools, how modern German lessons differ from other lessons and what perspectives are open to all participants in the educational process. School development is an important topic of public discussion and educational policy worldwide. Using its experience in modern concepts in school development, the Goethe-Institut opens up new perspectives for schools in the context of teaching of German and develops innovative courses and trainigs for school principals as well as projects involving learners, teachers, parents and school administration in the process of school development.

News & Innovations

The Year of Germany in Russia 2020/2021
Since the end of September 2020, the German Embassy in Russia, the Goethe-Institut in Moscow and the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce are holding the "Year of Germany in Russia 2020/2021".

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, many events such as major German-Russian art exhibitions, tours, concerts and festivals throughout Russia have not been able to take place as planned. These events were postponed until the second half of 2021.

The project partners of the Year of Germany 2020/2021 in the Russian Federation report that the German government has decided to extend the Year of Germany until mid-November 2021. Its completion is planned in the context of the St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum, to which Germany has been invited as a special guest.

The decision to extend the initiative is connected with the hope of implementing many additional projects within the framework of the Year of Germany and contributing to the strengthening of German-Russian relations. Further reading
